Just and steadfast, Derby Mallis is an up and coming knight under the teachings of the legendary Murgatroyd; Royal Knight and vassal to Prince Edwards. Having joined the military at a young age, Derby hopes to one day live up to his deceased father's ideals by becoming a famed knight known for his courage, faith and virtuosity. He is loyal, righteous... And a bit of a stick in the mud.
During a large attack on his kingdom, Derby is charged with helping the group in finding and evacuating those who can't fight for themselves. What he doesn't realize is that this mission will soon change his life forever when he finds out his father's legacy may not be exactly what he once thought it was.
Derby is the fifth character to join the party. His heavy armor protects him from many attacks and he's no slouch offensively when he's armed with his large Zanbatou (Horse Slayer) Sword. When need be, Derby can rely on his awesome use of the Fire Element.
I always thought Derby was tough as nails but now the player will see it from the get-go!
ReplyDeleteI don't ever remember seeing a shield on him but it does enhance the silhouette. Your colours are awesome too.
I can see Derby being a rock in a fight where everything he does is HUGE but the player has to pick just the right skill/attack/whatever because otherwise all of that steel on steel potential is just rusting away.
Derby is a very traditional character, I think many people will like using him in a fight. He's the second physically strongest character in the game and has the highest base defense, but he's also by far the most expensive character to maintain. In fact, he needs to pay double what the others do for armor. But all in all, he's a tank. Later in the game, he's able to unlock a skill that gives him 9999 HP.If only he weren't so slow.
